Angela Baxley

Angela is a 61-year-old grandmother raising her 8-year-old granddaughter. Their household runs on a tight budget — one that doesn't always stretch to fresh produce, especially for a granddaughter who prefers the real thing over anything canned or processed.

Eat Well has changed that math. Angela picks up strawberries and grapes instead of jelly and Pop-Tarts, and relies on the frozen produce aisle for vegetables when fresh isn't in the budget. She keeps her Eat Well purchases as a separate transaction so she can track the balance month to month — a small habit that's made the benefit easier to manage. She's also become a careful label-reader, watching for sodium, added sugar, and unnecessary additives.

Angela's commitment to staying healthy traces back to 2012, when a severe case of swine flu led to pneumonia and put her in a coma for two months. Today, her motivation is her granddaughter.
